Every figure on this page is computed from the inputs you enter, by the method stated below it. The only constants HeadcountDesk supplies are the published federal payroll tax rates and the overtime multiplier, each cited where it is used. The defaults are a worked example to replace with your own.
Employee conflict resolution at a small employer follows one procedure written in the handbook: hear each person separately and write down their account; find the facts that can be established; meet together where that is safe and useful; agree what changes and by when; record the agreement; and follow up on a date. Where the conflict involves conduct the handbook prohibits, the discipline procedure runs alongside. The review template on this site records what was agreed and scores the follow-up, free; HeadcountDesk Pro keeps the notes against each employee.

Hear each separately, in writing
Each person's account, in their words, dated, before any conclusion. The note is the first record and often the last one needed.
Establish what can be established
The facts from the record and from witnesses, kept apart from the two accounts. Where the facts show conduct the handbook prohibits, the discipline procedure applies to that, separately.
Agree the change, record it, follow up
What each person will do differently and by when, written and signed, with a follow-up date. The free review template on this site records the agreement and scores the follow-up.
The handbook and the file
The grievance and conduct sections say how this is done; the free employee handbook template on this site has them. The notes go in each employee's file. From the vendors' own pricing pages: Homebase lists Essentials at $24 per location per month billed annually or $30 monthly, with a free Basic plan for one location of up to ten employees; BambooHR lists Core at $10 and Pro at $17 per employee per month; Deputy lists Core at $6.50 per user per month. HeadcountDesk Pro is $24 a month per location.
